Middle-aged Meme

I was just thinking that I wouldn’t mind doing a meme, and then Zhoen obligingly posts a really good one …

WHAT I’LL NEVER DO AND THAT’S OK

Drive a Rolls Royce
Have children
Be a trapeze artist
Find it easy to concentrate
Learn Chinese (OK so I might, but it's very unlikely)

WHAT I HAVE DONE AND WOULD LIKE TO DO AGAIN

Visit the Grand Canyon
Dance
Fall in love
Take singing lessons
Have an Hawaiian massage

WHAT I’VE DONE AND WILL HAVE TO DO AGAIN

Move house
Change career
Get up early on cold, dark winter mornings
Look stupid
Bite my tongue

WHAT I WON’T DO AGAIN

Get drunk
Say yes when I want to say no
Incur unnecessary debt
Wear uncomfortable shoes for prolonged periods
Work as a temp for C***** B *** Ltd, London

WHAT I STILL MAY GET TO DO

Learn Welsh
Spend a year in India
Meet a soulmate
Stay calm under extreme provocation
Become a good gardener.

Anyone else? Let me know in the comments if you do it. And there is no definition for middle age so if this appeals but you feel you don’t qualify, just go ahead anyway.

Spooky! Many of your points echo what are my own thoughts!

So, are you going to learn Welsh then?

BTW......If you were nearer, the herhimnbryn household would expect you to come over for breakfast!

Any thoughts on changing, "What I still may get to do" to, "What I intend doing?"?

If the year in India begins before the end of March next year, let me know ;^)

Thanks everyone. This was fun.

Zhoen: ditto ... :-)

HHB: It's such a beautiful language - I am tempted.

Pete: I think they are two different headings - though there is an overlap for sure. Good thought.

Jean: Oh go on, do it ....:-)

Sonia: Thank you, you too!

Love this M. ALL of it! I think especially important is "never say yes when I mean no"...
But all of it rang bells.

Mary, I saw it here first. Copied and pasted yours to Notepad, and I had a hard time replacing your answers, so many of them could have been mine. Good meme, fun to read everyone's answers on this one.

LJ: I should have added that the Not Saying Ys When I Meet No is an ongoing challenge. Worth it though. Thanks.

Jess: Oh I would have loved to see yours ...... you're right, it's a good one.

Sorry I wasn't very clear, Mary, mine is posted at Indicative of Nothing. Come see! I made creepy Picassohead art to go with it!

Oh Pohanginapete, you don't want to be in India in March; not Southern India anyway...but them again, this is a Canadian speaking...was way too hot for my blood. No sleep to be had. Therefore, what I would not do again: be in Southern India in the month of March.

What I’ll never do and that’s okay: Yes, Drive a Rolls Royce (and go to jail for driving a Rolls Royce)

What I have done and would like to do again: Go to India (btw Nov and Feb)

What I’ve done and will have to do again: juggle my bills

What I won’t do again: well put, “Say yes when I want to say no,” I’ve done that too often

What I still may get to do: go to Ireland (anytime)…actually there’s a few more places as well.
Oh yes, and get a book published

Thank you Mary! This was fun

I identified with the temp reference and loved you for mentioning it- now that I've switched areas, I'm finally in a position to say, uh, gee thanks, but no, thanks. There was a company in Vancouver that I blacklisted though, not that I ever said anything to them. :)

Edie: I am so glad you had a go! I was in New Delhi in January once and definitely wished I'd bought some winter woolies with me. South India is probably different though ...

Brenda: Really glad you picked up on the temp reference. I have 2 places I know I will never go back to .... but fortunately quite a few more where I am happy to return.
