It takes the time it takes ...
Yes, I know, I need links. Haven't yet sat down and figured how to do them on Blogger. This will come. In the meantime, enjoy the blog as a Work in Progress. Less is more ....

Hey! You done did it!
I'm the first, the very first commenter!

I'm so glad.
East Anglia marshes... now would that be the same place as the Fens? (My English geography is ludicrously sketchy, I'm afraid.)
Oops, in my excitement I missed the comments below. Okay, so I'm the second commenter :-)
Hi Dale. Welcome!!!
:-).
The Fens do indeed form part of East Anglia, which is one of the most low-lying parts of the UK. Your geography is pretty accurate. The marshes I was thinking of actually are further to the south, facing east across the North Sea.
Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! You figured it out and now I can comment!
...Gee, what shall I say? ;-)

Mary, I'm a bit concerned. I clicked on the link "view complete profile" (or something like that, it is not there now so I can't check the exact wording from THIS page and I didn't write it down) -- the link is over on the right side. Anyhoo, this takes me to a page with links like "language". When I pick this, it sure looks like I can change the language setting on your blog. Now part of me wants to try it to see. (This is not QUITE as much a meddling or mean thought as it might sound, I mess with software for a living, so "try it out" is not esp an odd idea). But, of course, if it were to work that would be bad. Anyway, please check about this. I don't use blogger so can't advise what setting is allowing guests to set other settings.
all the best,
Moria
Never mind, I'm an idiot. I'm viewing the main BLOGGER page and help that goes with it. It has nothing to do with YOUR blog. [sigh] It is asking what language I want to see BLOGGER HELP etc in.
(Can I delete my prior comment?) [sigh]
Thank you Moose and Moria
Moose: without you (and Dale) it would have been a long time before I would have worked out the Comments system. So many thanks for that. Are you a Brit living in the US?
Moria: :-). At the moment I am feeling a complete Blogger ignoramus, and what you did is just the sort of thing I would do. Please don't worry, and thanks for visiting.
I'm sorry, I only saw your question to me just now. No, I'm American, but lived in England as a child so your descriptions bring back many memories. Give full credit for straightening out the comments to Dale!
